Welcome to Lancaster

Welcome to Lancaster, a historic city in PA’s heartland where tradition meets modernity in a tapestry of charm and sophistication. It’s one of my absolute favorite areas of PA including nearby Lititz.

The Scene

There’s a bustling arts scene happening, lots of festivals, and a very welcoming atmosphere. The downtown area has really come a long way and dare I say, it’s absolutely thriving. Enjoy discovering the eclectic shops and art galleries on Queen Street and take in a show at the Fulton Theatre.

The city boasts a whole host of dining options from cozy coffee shops with stellar brews to farm-to-table restaurants, offering a taste of local flavors in some innovative ways. Not to be missed is Luca for the food and the vibe. Reservations are necessary every day of the week to give you an idea. And The Belvedere Inn (or Belvie’s) to the locals) is a great spot for cocktails in a cool historic building.

The Lifestyle

Lancaster has charm, down-to-earth residents exuding genuine hospitality and a sense of a close-knit community. The city has come a long way in development and revitalization in the last 15 years and that has manifested into a really cool area to reside for a diversity of ages from young adults renting downtown to families and retirees owning homes in the more rural developments.

The locals are super friendly, and helpful and love to share info on the area with those just visiting or exploring. Access to the Amish-owned farms nearby allows for indulgence in some gorgeous, delicious food. The Central Market, established in 1730 yet with a bit of a modern twist is a must and an absolute treat!

The Market

Lancaster’s real estate market has grown exponentially as more and more housing options have become available and buyers from outside the area are falling in love with all that it has to offer. In downtown, there are historic row houses and Victorian mansions as well as condos and well-designed loft apartments.

Whether you’re seeking a quaint urban retreat or a spacious suburban home, Lancaster has something to suit every lifestyle and budget. It’s got a distinctly unique character along with convenience (equidistant and easy access to Philly and the Lehigh Valley).
